In the spring of 2016 my life was gilded on the outside but gutted on the inside. I had the partner, profession, and persona I was "supposed to have," but nothing felt quite right. The more I accomplished, the emptier I felt. I knew something was wrong. I began questioning what I was doing, why I was doing it, and how I was living.

My inquiry led me to unraveling the person others wanted me to be so I could discover the person I truly wanted to be. I spent time with my colleagues from Harvard Divinity School researching millennial spirituality. Together we partnered with On Being to help develop a program of spiritual formation for the religiously unaffiliated. Instead of simply researching and guiding others through the program, I decided to live it.

Over the course of 4 years I touched deep healing for my self, profound reconciliation with my family, and embodied commitment to my larger community. Therapy, spiritual advisory, and guided reflection were tremendous aides along this path.
