our philosophy
We approach treatment from a holistic and humanistic perspective, exploring the biological, psychological, social and spiritual dimensions of a person’s experience in assessment and treatment. Our primary emphasis is on supporting body-mind-spirit integration and we use a wide range of modalities with our clients. As trauma specialists and trauma-informed practitioners, our priority is to create safe and sound healing opportunities for our clients to have a truly, embodied transformational experience for lasting change.
“Trauma victims cannot recover until they become familiar with and befriend the sensations in their bodies… The mind needs to be reeducated to feel physical sensations, and the body needs to be helped to tolerate and enjoy the comforts of touch.”
— van der Kolk, 2014

treatment modalities
-
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders.
-
Brainspotting
Brainspotting locates points in the client’s visual field that help to access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain. Dr. Grand discovered that "Where you look affects how you feel." It is the brain activity, especially in the subcortical brain that organizes itself around that eye position.
-
Somatic & Embodiment Therapy
Somatic and Embodiment therapies both prioritize the embodied experience in the healing process. Bringing cohesion to the brain-body-mind connection is at the root of these methods. These modalities can range from slow, subtle, and meditative to exploratory and playful.
-
CBT Skills
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that focuses on one’s thinking and behavior as a mode of change. It has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness.

Breathwork
Even though we all do it everyday, breathing is a unique skillset that many of us are unfamiliar with. How we breath impacts how we feel and how we function. Our breathing has the ability to catalyze or neutralize a panic attack.
-
Embodied Mindfulness
Embodied mindfulness skills are at the core of our treatment philosophy. It is not enough to be aware of your thoughts, we must recognize the interrelationship between thought, feeling and sensation. These skills are requisite for treating trauma effectively.
-
Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy is the psychology of mental or emotional forces or processes developing especially in early childhood and their effects on behavior and mental states. It provides explanation or interpretation (as of behavior or mental states) in terms of mental or emotional forces or processes.
-
Spiritual Development
We provide holistic care that welcomes and includes the spiritual dimension, regardless of faith or orientation. We provide a safe space to ask and explore deep questions like: What is the meaning of life? What is my purpose? What are my values? Do I believe in a Higher Power? What is my connection to past generations, future generations, and the planet?
-
Community Care
We are hard-wired for connection and yet many of our challenges are relational. Community care is important for healing ruptures and strengthening resilience as a tribal being. Healing in community is especially powerful because of the borrowed benefits that can come from a witness others in a process that reflects your own.
